Cain Dingle faces a stern warning from his granddaughter, Sarah Sugden, next week as he spirals in response to a tough stretch. He’s desperate for an outlet for his anger, but Sarah is disappointed by how he’s handling the situation and the effect it’s having on those around him.
The drama kicks off after Cain visits his wife Moira in prison (https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a70140365/emmerdale-spoilers-double-murder-shock-moira-cain/). When he gets home in a foul mood, Cain is furious to find his family’s rival, Joe Tate, waiting at Butler’s Farm. He practically accuses Joe of breaking in as part of a sly bid to seize the farm, and he lunges to grab the Tate tycoon. Matty Barton intervenes, preventing the confrontation by revealing that he let Joe inside.
There’s more heartbreak on the horizon when Ruby Miligan, filled with remorse, confesses that she was the one who called the police about Anya’s body, unknowingly triggering the sequence that led to Moira’s arrest (https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/a69510078/emmerdale-joshua-richards-bear-storyline-anya-death/).
An Emmerdale insider explains, “This news really doesn’t sit well with Cain. He believes Ruby’s actions only worsened Moira’s situation by dragging the police into things without anyone’s knowledge. He suspects Caleb engaged the top lawyer out of guilt, and his anger boils over to the point where he pushes his brother and sister-in-law away.”
Sarah pleads for her granddad to stop alienating everyone who’s trying to help and to open up about his cancer diagnosis so the family understands what he’s facing.

“It’s going to be a heartbreaking and difficult watch at times,” Katie Hill (Sarah) told us about Cain’s storyline. “But because cancer is so prevalent in so many people’s lives, it’s an important story to tell. And Jeff Hordley’s performance as Cain is incredible to watch. It’ll be heartbreaking, but it’s going to be a powerful portrayal.”
